Welcome to the website of the Setting Lake Cottage Owners Association. Setting Lake is located on the Grass River system in northern Manitoba that extends from the Saskatchewan border to where it joins the Nelson River at Split Lake.
The Setting Lake cottage area comprises 169 cabins on four roads intersecting Highway 6 about twenty kilometers north of Wabowden and ninety kilometers south of Thompson. The first cabins were built in the 1970s and over the years many cottagers have made Setting Lake their permanent home.
The area has been populated for thousands of years and is part of the fur trade routes of the eighteenth century.
